The Chiltern Challenge 100 ride is aimed at all cyclists who are prepared to ride 100 miles for charity, secure in the knowledge that all necessary support is on hand to help participants complete the distance. 2010 will be the 3rd year for this event and on Sunday 27th June 2010 we expect to again host the biggest century ride in the area. It is open to anyone, teams of pairs or ride alone, its a great memorable day out for everyone, and you will be helping Action Medical Research to touch yet more lives!

There are 2 circular rides, 100 mile and 100 kilometre starting and finishing near the River Thames in Henley. After making an early start from the Rugby Club, within a couple of miles the routes begin climbing into the Chiltern Hills so a good warm up before you set off is highly recommended. Both routes pass through idyllic villages like Turville (Vicar of Dibley) and take in stunning views before descending the Chiltern escarpment into the picturesque village of Ewelme and our 2nd rest-halt.

Leaving the toughest of the hills behind them, riders then proceed through gently rolling countryside, criss-crossing the Thames before stopping for lunch near Wallingford. After lunch, the riders wind their way through leafy lanes to the Thames crossings at Sonning and Henley-on-Thames before returning to the start in Henley. Where the rides diverge, there is ample signage identifying the 2 routes, including confirmation signs after the junction. In both cases the 100km route turns left and the 100 mile route turns right. Full support along the route, refreshments and a hearty lunch will mean this challenge is more than possible for you! Have you got what it takes? Then what are you waiting for!?!?
